Some how I seem to be fighting this debt alone. My husband seems to think that if he sells some of his stuff the money is his to go out and spend. So, he now owns a £300 speaker thing for his guitars - which he only ever plays in his bedroom - because he sold some things.

I've always struggled with the guitar addiction thing, there are currently 10 in our bedroom, and he has sold some. Speakers, pedals, expensive magazines, strings, cds, all adding up to thousands and thousands. It was something he did before we were together, but I guess I thought once he had his 'stuff' that would be it.

Now I get so angry every time - his reply is 'get your own hobby', but I can't justify spending ALL THAT MONEY on ME. The last time he went to buy something he even told me he felt bad - he rang before going into the shop to ask my opinion, I told him it was up to him, really, really hoping that after all the battles he would realise the guilt was becuase now is not the time to have a new guitar item. But no, he went ahead and got it. Bang went our few family days away. Bang went my temper. Bang goes my respect and trust.

    ROAR.

Don't get me wrong - I am not scrimping and saving my way out of this debt, I have done that, and whilst efficient is also blooming terrible, but I have stopped all personal purchases for a while. No clothes, no trips, less wine (A lot less), just generally cutting back. It feels like not a lot has changed for him - his money is his, mine is everyones.

Right, I must stop ranting, it's not getting the work done.

    Hopefully my day will improve.

Santander C/C £7032 Reduced £650 - interest has gone on, but still managed to clear the worst of the interest already.
    Santander Loan £8502 Reduced £342
    Santander £399 (Debt cleared)
    RBS O/D - £933 Reduced £429
    Mortgage - circa £84,000
SAVINGS +£300.24 (Down, but a trip to London paid for)

So far, so good. 3 days into the school holidays. Always a very expensive time. Fingers crossed we manage to keep the costs down.

Also - people are paying now - which is good and means we can get rid of some debt faster, I hope.

    Have a good one.

This week I have been focussed on getting the CC paid down as much as possible. £1000 off it so far - not bad.

Once the 'savings' aka emergency funds get to £1000 I will start putting extra off the cc too.

    All is good .

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. You are doing amazingly well! I am also a spender who has been on here for years. I am slowly trying to change my mindset. It's hard isn't it?
