I got autoreply for no longer valid email address. Any clues on which senior person to direct this to?
Try this one:

Email: mdcustomer.escalation@homebase.co.uk

The CEO is now John Walden but I can't find a direct e-mail for him.

Found it : john.walden@homeretailgroup.com

Get him to sign an A4 piece of paper confirming that, which gives his name and the car wash address, and the fact he parked the car VRN xxxxxxxx after the car wash and he authorised the vehicle to be there as well as parking it himself as an employee of xxxxxxxxxx.

Maybe pre-write the paper to include the time, date, car make, model and VRN and write with the heading 'witness statement' then get him to sign and date it and add his name and the full address of the location. Tell him you need it for the appeal as proof of what happened.

Then within the 21 days, appeal to the IAS...unusually, this has got to be one worth a try. We can help you word it, basically you are not liable and were not even in charge of the car and the driver would then have been named! Send a copy to G24 as well as appeling to the IAS, so G24 end up between a rock and a hard place.

Homebase MD is now Peter Davis since they were taken over, and Echo Lu given the push, so that's probably why her address bounces back.

That should be fun ..... the lady can state 100% that she was not driving, just imagine a car washer going to court when it's not his car.
I think the OP can have a lot of fun with this one:j

Hi all,

In the end case closed after complaining to Homebase . It was the normal customer service email address that did the trick. After some back and forth I got this:
Thank you for your e-mail regarding above.

I have had confirmation fro G24 that the parking fine has been lifted and the matter is now closed.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this caused you.

Thanks for your advice averyone

Well done, complaints to the principal are always the best way - plus, if they get enough of them they might eventually re-think the wisdom of having these parasites in their car park at all.

Great news! Homebase are still able to cancel these; that's good to have confirmed. I will add your successful complaint to this thread for others to see:

I often wonder about the legalities of these pop up car washes, planning permission etc., I wonder if Homebase really don't want a bad press over such issues!
