Santander 123 direct debits

Apologies in advance, just seeking reassurance.

I have 5 direct debits registered on my Santander 123 current account. 2 of them have never paid out (both less than n a year old), the other 3 pay out monthly (normally).

My account month is 11th to 10th, or perhaps 12th to 11th (monthly fee i taken, and interest/cashback, paid on the 11th).

For the period from 10or 11 March to 10or 11 April, I may be in difficulty. One of my direct debits (council tax) won't pay on 28 March. Another one paid on 10 March, but won't pay out again until 11 April (10 April being a Sunday).

So I may only have one DD paying out in the account period, even though 5 are showing on the account (of which 3 have paid out at some point).

I know the requirement for interest/ cashback is that there are 2 "active" DD's on the account. As I hold £20k in the account, I don't want to lose out on a month's interest.

Will I qualify?

Have you seen anything in the 123 T&Cs that says how often your DDs must pay out?
  • No, just reference to 2 active direct debits. But there's no definition of what "active" means in the t and c's.

Sorry if my question is stupid. I'm almost sure that I'm okay, but I don't want to be regretting later not doing something earlier :)

'Active' just means that a DD appears in your DDs list. Only thing to watch is that they may drop off if no money taken for a year or so - this is most likely to be linked savings accounts. Sounds like you have at least 3 which will remain active, so you'll be ok.
  • Thanks ManatHome, v helpful. Some definitions seem to differ eg to get the Halifax Reward monthly £5 Reward, you need to have 2 dd's actually paying out from the account during the previous calendar month. Better to be safe than sorry, hence my question.
