Good morning everyone :hello:
It's bright and sunny here this morning. My DD is 16 today so she has spent a while opening cards and presents before she goes to school. There are advantages to being part of a big family with lots of aunties and uncles, cousins and grandparents especially when they slip tenners into your cards. She is a bit of a stationery addict so she will be off to the stationers on a little spending spree on the weekend.
I had a very busy day yesterday with lots of visitors so I think I just want a quiet one today with my knitting and the telly for company. I've given out lots of my chicks already so I just have to post some off to Wales on the weekend for my sister and her children.
DD16 has requested burger and chips for tea so that will be easy. She made a couple of lovely cakes too yesterday so that is pudding taken care of.
(((Hilstep))), I just wanted to say that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you can take some comfort from all your virtual friends on here.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good Morning everyone, grey and chilly here today but dry which is a distinct improvement on yesterday. Poor old He Who Knows has come back from DD1s with a nasty head cold and sounds like a cartoon character because his throat is so sore so I've dosed him up with cold cure and he's gone off to get a breath of fresh air walking Cookie. I'm off to town on the bus this morning, I haven't made it for one reason or another for a couple of weeks now and unless we want to live on pasta and rice I need to get some groceries in. Nothing specific planned for the rest of the day, I'll have to see how the poorly one feels later on but I suspect he'll just want to be warm by the woodstove and watch endless repeats on TV, not for me!!! I'll read my book!!!
Hope everyone has a nice day, Lyn xxx.0 -
Hi all,
Hilly - (((hugs))) xx
It's grey and damp here, I need to give the kitchen a good clean, so will get on with that, I,m another one who uses a steam cleaner, I would defiantly recommend one
We,re trying to get our heads around DS2's various Uni applications for loans etc, need some quiet time to do that.
Loads of eggs and odds and ends in the fridge to use up, so will make a quiche and stuffed potato skins to have with salad tonight.
Hope your all well, take care XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Dry here at the moment and I'm hoping it will brighten up as my gardener is due today and the lawn is looking rather long and shaggy. No shopping to get though I shall do my first 'big' shop of the month tomorrow morning.I am at DDs on Saturday night as her and my son-in-law are driving up to collect my DGS Ben from Uni for the easter break so I will be at home with the dogs and three boys overnight. They have decided they want lasagne for dinner on Saturday night so I shall make it during the day and take it round to them.DD and OH and DGS will be home by Sunday afternoon.I'm looking forward to seeing him
Hope you all have a good day what ever you are doing
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Nice and bright here at present. Washing blowing gently on the line, so lovely to dry it outside.
I too have steam cleaner, and have done floors and bathroom this morning.
Just having early lunch then outside to tidy up another border of the garden, let's hope Spring in its way.
Hugs to Hilstep and those who are having difficult times.Carolbee0 -
Afternoon, chap from the council this morning to see what we needed doing, the back bedroom window needs the rubbers replacing to stop the wind whistling through, the larger window also needs replacing the seal has gone. No idea what he is going to do about the shed floor, its soaking again this morning, the coal OH brought in was wet. good job I do not need the fire lit. He will also sort the front gate.
My new iron arrived, its to use off the Polti syeamer I have, its a good weight. Have not had a chance to try it but will be doing so later.
Bacon and lentil soup made for lunch, I made a loaf yesterday so fresh bread with it, lovely and crusty.
OH has gone for his siesta, when he gets up we are going into town, we have books to go back, the library is closed, but they have big containers on the letter boxes so you can post your books back. Must check tomorrow and see they have been marked off.
Very damp and cloudy, I had to put the laundry in the dryer, its airing off on the aier just now. I also used the wool wash on the machine for the first time, a jumper of OH's twin set and fleece of mine, very good result.
Macaroni cheese, salad and jacket spuds to night, will prep it when we get back from town.0 -
