Credit file, bankruptcy, voluntary repossession ?? please help

Hello. i went bankrupt in 2009 and then in 2011 i gave up my house for voluntary repossession. i was told that due to my status as a bankrupt i would not be chased for the balance of my mortgage and thankfully i wasnt. I was also told that the default on my mortgage would be removed from my credit file at the same time as my bankruptcy. Im now looking at moving house again and using a letting agent, they want to do credit checks so i thought ild log in to experian and have a look at what they would see. My bankruptcy is gone along with all the accounts that were included on it. But my mortgage is still there showing a red cross in each box and a balance of £155K!! and saying its defaulted. It hasnt been undated since January 2012. Im not sure on the rules with this due to the added complication of my bankruptcy so dont want to start demanding it be removed and end up looking a fool because im wrong.
So any advise on this would be great. Should it be on there? should it say default? as none of my bankruptcy stuff said default on it when i looked last year. Just dont need this added drama as im going to have a hard enough time passing their checks being self employed and pregnant.
Thankyou in advance

Defaults remain on the credit report for 6 years from the date of default. After this point they will be removed from the report. Contact the lender and query it with them - they can update the report.0

i also had a secured loan that got delt with during the repossession and added in to my bankruptcy and that isnt showing on my credit file. if the 6 year rule is going to apply then i have another 15 months before i can have it removed.0

Hi, letting agent checks only reveal public records like bankruptcies, ccj's ect. If the mortgage shortfall is just a default they won't see that.
Good luck!
