Thanks Changearound, I have 2 tesco accounts so that will work. :j

they do need to be savings accounts so you can set up DDs to pay yourself!
If you don't have sufficient money to transfer £750 as a lump sum don't forget that you can take money out, then pay it back in! Money doesn't have to reside there but be mindful of having sufficient for the 2 x DDs as their overdraft charges are ....what's the word...?? ... very expensive , and would wipe any £5 bonuses.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

    Quick question:

Tried to switch - screen says step 1) fill in application form, 2) complete switching form at the end 3) let them do the rest.

I applied via the switch now link on the halifax website completed form, it said application successful asked if I wanted an arranged OD and then said application completed. It never gave me the option to complete a switch form.

Is this normal or have I missed something? I spoke to Halifax customer service online and they were pretty useless to be honest. The agent sent me a link to follow I followed it but it requires a Halifax account number and sort code to complete the form. I do not have these and was advised that these will be sent out by post. Worried that by time they arrive and I complete the switch form the 22/3/16 will have passed meaning I have missed out on switching incentive.

    Can anyone advise?
  • Did you get an email saying "Your current account application was successful" the new account number is on this email.

Right at the very end of the application process I had an opportunity to switch online. It saud something like - continue to switch now. There was also a point earlier where it said something like -there will be an opportunity to switch after your application is complete.

In reply to antonette254 and Nebulous2: Thanks for the replies - all sorted now. There was an email confirming the account details and a link to the switching form.
