BG Collective Fix Feb 2017
Options
Hi,
I am in the process of switching to the above BG Energy Deal from Sainsbury's "Price Promise Nov 16".
I have received confirmation that the switch is in progress and I could expect a saving of £243.00 annually plus the £30 cash back.
However I have looked at my annual historical usage again, (these are the same figures that I submitted to the BG Website).
GAS: 50000kwh
ELECTRIC: 5500kwh
Based upon these figures and the new Tariffs I calculate my savings will only be £90.
This is based upon £165 MORE for Gas and £255 LESS for Electricity.
Can anyone shed any light onto this discrepancy please ?

Savings are based on the OFGEM methodology of COSTS equal X months on your present tariff PLUS 12 - X months on the standard variable tariff. Inflated COSTS lead to inflated SAVINGS. MSE CEC also does the simple comparison of 12 months on your present tariff compared to 12 months on your new tariff.
I have to ask '50000kWhs of gas' - what are you heating? You might benefit from a micro-CHP boiler. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
