I wonder if it was actually the correct postage when it was sent and just wrong because of the increases? I would enjoy pointing that out to RM!

I suspect you are right. The first class stamp was marked as previously used so it was counted as no postage at all. The contents are worth a bit more than £2 so I'm not too upset. I'm just really curious as to where this has been for over a year when all it had to do was travel about five miles.

If the seller replaced it you may want to let them know you have it.

I *think* undelivered parcels go to the lost mail dept in Ireland, and then sit in the RM equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle for an entirely random amount of time.

This may have changed, but about 10 years ago I sold an item on ebay which the buyer never received. About a year later it was finally returned to me by RM. No idea why it took them so long - both my address AND the buyer's address were on the parcel.

Well the parcel has turned up. It's something I ordered in January 2015 which went missing. The seller replaced them and for some reason they have turned up more than a year later.

Truth is getting stranger than fiction here.

Why? I'm sure the item was written off a long time ago. By contacting the seller, you are making a simple situation needlessly more complex.

Why? Because the item doesn't belong to the buyer. Morals and honesty have no time limit or complexity.

No fiction , absolutely true. If I could post a photo of the envelope, I would. I'd only got one parcel I was expecting so I wrongly assumed the card was for that one. I'd long forgotten about this missing one.

I've tried to contact the seller but I can't find them on eBay any more. I strongly suspect they may have blocked me. The first parcel went missing, they made me wait three weeks before agreeing to sent out a replacement. The second one arrived and one of the items was defective and I had to request a replacement. They tried to say I had to return to the manufacturer for a replacement, but as the seller was not an authorised outlet, the manufacturer refused and I had to go back to the seller.

I'll try other options of finding them but as all the details have gone from eBay, and there was no paperwork in the parcel, I'm not sure how successful I'll be.

If you log in to your PayPal account you should find the original transaction is still there, along with the seller's contact details.
  • Thanks, verybigchris, I'd not thought of that. I'll try that.
