Bathroom quote. Have I been scammed?

On Monday I had a quote from a bathroom company for a new bathroom. I decided there and then I was going ahead with the quote. I was told they take 25% deposit and then of they other 75% half when items delivered and half on completion. I thought that was fair enough so I paid 25% which was £770. I was told the work would be carried out on the 11 april . The salesman called today to ask if we could bring the work forward a week. I was happy to do this. He also said all my items except the flooring had arrived today and the other £1000 would now be payable as I had asked them to keep the items until they were getting fitted. I then thought why have they ordered everything in a month in advance? So I have asked them just to deliver the items and then I will pay.
They have set the delivery for Monday.
I am worried I have been scammed or is this normal practice for a small company. Roll on Monday to see if my bathroom turns up!!!

To be honest I would't have paid the remaining sum without having any evidence of a delivery however this might just be you worrying over nothing. I take it you have the companies details and some sort of evidence of an agreement?

What company is it? What's their name? Webiste? Registered with company's house?

Typed in "company name scam" into google to see if anything comes up?

It's probably fine but based on the info you've provided how could we know?
