    Surely OP is talking about a gravel drive so it's permeable.

    wrightk does make a good point but I used road planings to create some parking spaces at work that are used every day and they haven't budged a bit after 5 years+

    Absolutely nothing wrong with road planings:D
    Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.

    The chippings may be permeable, but the sub base needs to be too!

    Thank you everyone for the replies, got some great ideas/valid points and things to thing about...

    Glad to hear the digger guy will be able to make it a level surface! I will loook into the sub base ie; speak to local skip hire/Grab Hire companies.
    to ensure i get the correct sub base.
