I have just re-insured my car with Saga and whilst checking the paper work I noticed "Arrangement Fee" on phoning Saga for an explaination the lady customer service person say's quite politely it's alway's been charged and lot's of insurers do it but we are now trying to be more transparent about these charges. The long and short of it is that I am paying my insurer £20 for the priveledge of giving them my business, Just another rip off I suppose I will be more dilegent when renewing next year.

Do Saga actually insure your car or do they arrange cover with an insurance company .0

Was the total price the best deal available? If so, I don't see the problem. If not, you need to shop around more.0

Saga is one of the leading providers of motor insurance solutions to the over 50s market. Our insurance policies have historically been underwritten predominantly by our in-house, market leading, underwriter Acromas Insurance Company Limited (AICL). We are in the process of launching a Motor Insurance panel as we have done successfully in our Home Insurance business. This is with the aim of expanding our market share by increasing the range of competitive products we can provide to our customers.0 -
Maybe they still charge the same, but itemise the £20
Then if someone cancels the policy, they still keep the £20 admin charge?0 -
I wonder if they charge the same to new customers?
(An extra charge for being loyal and renewing without comparing the various options/haggling)0 -
My insurer (broker) have a similar charge. They are just being open on what they charge. Its £18 or £20 something like that.
The paperwork shows premium + charge + tax.
The final price is what counts so not an issue for me.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
