car trouble
Options
Hi, could I have some advice please? I got my car over 6 months ago, I got the car on finance with a local garage, since then I have had numerous jobs done to the car, but last Friday the car a Chevrolet Matiz, came to a stand still, I had the greenflag come out, and they took me back home, the greenflag man said it was the coilpack so I had that replaced, still no luck, another greenflag man came out and said valve problem, now this is going to be a very expensive job that's even if it can be fixed, how do I stand if it;s unrepairable? As I still have 1 1/2 years finance left on it, what are my options I'm sick to the pit of my stomach with worry.
Thanks

Hmmmmm. Sometimes it's just too easy. You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0

the big question here is, was the car purchased as a "New" car?
if so it may be worth pursuing, if not the cost of doing anything may exceed the value of the car taking you into the classic "double or nothing" legal bet.
Either way prompt action may be necessary, under the SOGA (Sale Of Goods Act) there is a 6 month limit from purchase where the onus moves from retailer to customer to prove the fault being present at time of sale.
This will take precedence over any section 75 CCA claim.0 -

I had a similar worry with my car recently. It broke down and the repairs were looking to be a hell of a lot more than the car was worth.
I spent ages trying to find a solution but in the end the best option I had was to scrap the car and pay the remaining 12 months finance.
Luckily, mine managed to get fixed for less than we had thought in the end after 5 weeks of worry.0 -
