Hotel with no water - advice please

Hi - I'm looking for some advice.
I stayed at a hotel on a Wowcher deal on Friday night with 9 friends and in a nutshell, the hotel was having major problems with the water and in our room and many others there was no running water.
The toilets couldn't be flushed, we couldn't shower, wash our hands, brush our teeth, nothing.
Can anyone advise on what the responsibilities of this hotel should have been?
They had a large event and continued to serve food however guests were left in the dark with no comms to the rooms and no water bottles left outside the rooms. It was very poorly managed considering basic hygiene needs were not met. Subsequently there was a lot of unhappy guests trying all communal toilets and filling them to the brim with tissues then unable to wash their hands before returning to the dining room.
I am disputing with the Manager now that the room only will be refunded but we paid a package deal through Wowcher and they have said this is for the hotel to sort out. No alternative rooms or accommodation was offered (we were in the middle of nowhere anyway with many people having drunk too much to drive as it was a Ladies Night).
I have IBD so this was particularly distressing but want to know my rights, if any.

What percentage of the overall cost was the room?
Given that the Ladies night entertainment went on as planned, I think a refund if the room component sounds fair on the face of it.0 -
I would a least expect a refund on the accommodation, it it was really bad they could/should of put you up at another hotel nearby at their expense. I had the same situation some years ago and got a full refund. Contact whoever you paid or booked it with for a refund.0

I think if you go to a ladies night and there are no working toilets you've got a claim to say the nights entertainment wasn't as planned. I personally wouldn't enjoy a night out knowing that if I had to relieve myself I had no adequate facilities to either do that or wash my hands afterwards.0 -
I used to work in hospitality and when the water went we had to close, health and safety was the reason.
Aside from the guests not being able to wash their hands, more importantly neither can the kitchen staff.
They shouldn't have continued to serve food.
No idea on your rights but thought I'd share my experience. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
