Wickes Big & Bulky Delivery Charge 'hack'

So the Wickes 'big and bulky' charge is now £30, and it's no longer free for purchases over £50... but...

There's a little flaw in the system...

Say you buy 3 x £21 fence panels, with big & bulky delivery that will normally set you back £93 with the £30 delivery charge.

But if you buy 3 x £21 fence panels and, say, a hosepipe adaptor for £1 - standard delivery kicks in, which is free over £50 so it will cost you £64

And once you've had this delivery, you can even return the hose adaptor and get your £1 back :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

How long this state of affairs will last I don't know, but hopefully it will help someone out...

So is delivery free over £50 or not? You say it isn't free, then say it is free.

You need to make your mind up.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

There's "standard delivery" for stuff that can be sent in the post, and "big and bulky delivery" for stuff that needs to be delivered on a big truck (like fence panels, paving slabs, concrete)... Op is saying throw an item that is sent standard delivery into your basket, and the whole delivery benefits from free delivery, even though it should be much more.

This must have changed their policy very recently - just two weeks ago I had six 3.6M lengths of skirting delivered at only a fiver for Saturday delivery - its now big and bulky delivery.

I had a trolley of big and bulky items saved on the website last weekend, with delivery showing as free because of a total value over £300. Waiting to make a couple of final measurement before ordering. So yesterday I went to complete the order and found delivery now £30, so they must have changed policy in the last couple of days. Wish I had known about the standard delivery hack, but at least I went through Topcashback to offset part of it!

They must have fixed this as I can't avoid the £30 charge
