Not on the electoral roll...!

Hi guys,

So I've just checked my credit report and it turns out my electoral roll EXPIRED...! I didn't know this happened, and I have had to re-register. The issue?

We've just had an offer accepted on a house so are planning to apply for a mortgage this week...!

Is there anything we can do about this? I have registered immediately, but not sure how long we need to wait? Or if we can make the bank aware of this issue and they can negotiate a way around it?

  • I wasn't on the electoral role either and got accepted.

Still ain't but it was back in 2003. So perhaps not the same now.

My belief it that they'll be far more interested in ability to pay rather than having a vote or eligibility for being called for jury service.

You don't need to be on the electoral roll to get credit.

I have never been on it and have a mortgage, loans and credit cards at very good rates if interest.

It's more for identification purposes so if you can prove you are who you say you are by using other means then it's makes very little difference if you're on the electoral roll or not.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
