Theory Test - Hazard Perception
My eldest is doing pretty well on preparation for the theory test and we've downloaded a few apps to help.
However, we can't find an app or website to help with the hazard perception part of the test when they give you a driving scenario and you have to click on potential hazards.
Can anyone recommend one?
Thanks
Maureen

I wouldn't bother looking. Just get in there and do it... With all respect to your offspring, you'd have to be pretty unobservant to fail the hazard perception test - it's stupidly easy.0

Well it ain't that easy. I failed everyone I did on some practice DVD. My children have failed on this only. Some of it is quite random and its just luck if you pass. It is not always obvious what the particular hazard is that they want you to flag; is it passing a parked car, or approaching a junction ?? That sort of choice. I have never had an accident in 40 years of motoring so not sure what the hazard perception thing is trying to prove but its a good money maker for the gov. with all the retest fees you rack up.0 -
It's CGI on a computer. I found it really easy as it's computer generated you can see everything happening clearer. I had sheep causing hazards on my test lol.
When the hazard occurs on screen you get a limited amount of time to react. The score is from 0-5. and this happens over two seconds or so. So the trick is to tap once when you see the hazard and then again just to make sure. Click everything you deem as a hazard but don't spam click. On my theory test I thought I would get a perfect score but I seem to have clicked before I entered the 'score zone time'.
The reason people fail it is because they don't understand how it works. For example you see a car approaching a junction to the side of you; Click, wait, click, wait, click. Get 2-3 clicks in when you see the hazard. You don't get negative marks for clicking a lot.0 -
An experienced driver will usually fail the first time they try it, having clicked far too early for the hazards.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

From the kind of driving i see most days i would say "experienced" drivers will probably watch the video and not click once because they will be oblivious to any hazards lol0 -

When I did my HP 2 and a half years ago you would fail for clicking too much otherwise you could just sit there clicking all the way through the test.
It was also not CGI but actual video recorded from a moving vehicle.
A car approaching a junction is NOT a hazard either, you looking for developing hazards like parked cars forcing an oncoming car onto your side of the road.0 -
