Aw I hope it's nothing serious and that you're all fit and well to go Wednesday. I hate the last few days before a big holiday worrying that things are going to go wrong, I just want to go!

My fingers are crossed for you :)
Hope your daughter is feeling better soon Murphy.

One thing I would say about Flagstaff is to be aware that trains run through there all night so if you are a light sleeper, make sure that you are well away from the tracks.
I stayed at a motel on route 66 and the noise of the whistle as trains passed over a junction drove me potty. If you are going to stay the night check out where the tracks are and keep well away from them.

google earth is superb for doing this.
Its a funny old world, to me, the sound of a trains airhorn howling and the clangs of a crossing bell are part of 'real time' America to me & [STRIKE]I absolutely love it[/STRIKE] my son enjoys it :rotfl:

Go to Baker Beach(south west of the bridge) for sunset views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

chers boatman, that sounds like a great idea. Previously, we viewed the bridge from (IIRC) Hawk Hill. Which gives you agreta view over the Bridge & SFO -- I hope that its still light when we get there :o

Well the bags are packed, we're good to go, just one more sleep then Blast Off :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Thank you one and all for your kind words and positive contributions. I'll look upon my trip as a MSE research exercise for ideas and not as an excuse to laze around in my favourite holiday destination.
