Learner driver insurance

Impossible to say, but in my experience adding a learner isn't usually that much of a cost - mainly because they will only be driving under supervision.
The big hike comes when they pass their test !0 -
Just called and it turns out the underwriter will not quote due to his age so no need to worry! Going to wait until renewal time now and see what difference it makes to quotes.0

I was in this situation recently - my son turned 17 and I wanted to add him to my insurance. I was with Direct Line at the time, paying £120 a year for me and the wife. I phoned them up to ask about adding my son - expecting a small increase, but nothing too drastic as, by definition, he'll be supervised at all times. How about £960 ?!
Anyhow, I compared some meercats, and ended up with KwikFit (!!!). Must admit I never even knew they did insurance. They wanted £380 - still a big hike compared to what I was paying, but nowhere near as bad as DL.0 -
I added my son to a Direct Line policy at 17 ..... added about £90 to the policy.0
