Calling UK Paypal on 0870 NO.

Its strange but true, but its cheaper to call the American Customer Service Centre of Paypal on the geographical no quoted on there site using 18866 or similar.Then it is to ring the Uk 0870 no at peak rate.Just shows what a rip off 0870 is.

I have just noticed on the say no to 0870 site,that you can call Paypal USA direct on 08448 373 173 for 2p a minute from a BT landline.Which obviously beats paying 7.91 p a min on 0870.

Last time I called them I used the Ireland number (+353 14369001) and called that at 1p/min using one of the discount call providers (ratebusters I think).

I didn't know a call to their U.S.A. call centre would work, as I though all their european customers were handled through Ireland. Good to know the U.S.A. number can work just as well.

For anyone who does call them, be prepared for a long call (20 minutes plus). Their first level representatives are not very helpfull, you have to get through to somebody more senior to get any real help.

That is quite interesting. I haven't looked there for a few days myself, but did the person who posted this comment disclose whether they were earning money from this number?
