Cancelling Barclaycard

Hi
For some silly reason I got me a Barclaycard credit card over a year ago. I never use it and want to cancel it but I can't use a telephone and speak to a stranger. I suffer from anxiety, I forget my mind and the whole thing becomes a mess especially with all the security questions. Last time I contacted them it went so wrong they ended up crediting the account as compensation.
Anyway, can I cancel by any other means?

The website just gives phone numbers so I'll write to the address you gave me. Hopefully it'll be less painful than my energy switch from Co-operative

You can close a barclaycard account by sending a message via internet banking. You get a message along the lines of "We have accepted your request to close your account. Please call us on 0123 to discuss" but you can just ignore that.0
