head wall bang hurts.....!!!!!

After a severe alcohol addiction that got so bad I was given 4 days to live, most would say my life is back on track.... but oh no. CREDIT RATINGS have hit me more than that addiction!!!
I have debts from the house that I nearly died in and following a stint in hospital, then 6 months in rehab followed by another 6 months in supported housing, i am now in full time employment with a good salary. In a position to get a mortgage. Unfortunately debts from my adicition are now haunting me. One of these is with, from what I can gather, the dreaded BCW, from 2015 as Npower were unable to find me from a debt of 2011. Where the hell can I turn. Should I pay all my outstanding debts of or literally just wait for them to be spent... Debts total about £4500. When I pay them off will they just be shown as paid and I don't get any Experian points. Don't know where to turn, or even who to ask. Can anyone please help. X

You need to list your debts and the dates of defaults.

But if you settle them, your file will look better than if you don't. However, it very much depends on your intentions for future credit.

Any Experian points you may get are worthless, unless you can exchange them for some kind of small gift or vouchers.

Experian or any other credit agency "score / points" is meaningless, no lender gets to see them

A lender can see your credit file , lending amounts, any defaults, late payments, CCJ's etc..

Are your debts in default? A satisfied default is viewed more favourably then an outstanding one but they're still not great for a mortgage.

What do you have on your credit record regarding late payments, defaults, ccj's etc?
