Nissan Primastar deadlocked - unable to get in, any ideas please?
Hi,
I have a Nissan Primastar which I have deadlocked and now the body control module has developed a fault (so unable to unlock the back/side/passenger door from the inside or outside) I have been quoted more than I can afford to get it fixed. I need to get my stuff out of the back but can't get in there without breaking the door.
I just wondered if anyone knows how I can get into it without damaging it?

Or Vauxhall - the Primastar is same van as the Renault Trafic and Vauxhall Vivaro. But I wouldn't expect to find easy ways to defeat security systems being openly talked about. The whole point of deadlocking is to prevent easy access - you're just going to have to do some damage, I think, unless a local locksmith can help.
If you're planning on repairing the van, it might be easiest to break a window and get somebody into the van that way to fix the fault. If a fix is too expensive, and you'll be scrapping it, then damage to a door doesn't matter so much.
If you need access to the contents more quickly than a fix, a used door shouldn't be too expensive - there's a good choice on eBay for <£100.0 -

Thanks, yes have also typed in Traffic and Vivaro with no such luck - not surprising like you say.
I think we will end up selling as spares or repairs so ideally the less damage the better as its a really clean van.
Probably a stupid question, but could a locksmith help if there's no locks as such, just handles on the side/rear of the van?0 -
Had similar with a Transit, got a local automotive glass company to cut a hole in one of the back doors and once in, finish the job by cutting it properly and glazing it.0

I did this to a cavalier i owned and the way i broke into the boot was remove the rear number plate and drill a hole in the bodywork to access the rod that came from the servo actuator, i found out where to drill by looking in another car and noting where the rod was,could you do this?once number plate refitted you obviously couldnt see where i had attacked it,any help? (thinking outside the box ie walk away have a cuppa and appraise)0

Something as old as a Cavalier's unlikely to have been deadlocked - and the whole point of deadlocking is to prevent manual lock-wangling from gaining access.0 -
