But you don't need to do this, as already stated. This assumes OP has the 1.6 petrol lump.0

OAT doesn't mean it's made of porridge... It's an acronym for Organic Acid Technology.

Never has a posters sign in name been so fitting!0 -
Does it really take 4 hours to change a cambelt,, and why do you have to mess around with the cooling system? If the engine was out of the car it would take 15 minutes, most of the time will be spent contorted under the car getting at hard -to -reach bolts, but 4 hours seems a bit slow for people who do this for a living.
How long does it take you to do a Cambelt on a 2005 1.6 Focus?
And how do you change a water pump? As being able to do so without losing any coolant would be great.....0 -

It is good practice to change the water pump if it runs off the cambelt.
Obviously it doesn't always run off the cambelt.
I seem to remember that the 1.8tddi engine fitted to the mk1 Focus was like that.
I am sure a Jaguar Tech told me the same thing about the 3.0v6D engine, though that had two cambelts, one being at the back for the diesel pump and also a small camchain joining the two cams! Love the way they give with one hand they take away with the next!0
