How long is a piece of string, nobody in here can give you a definite answer, while one company may say 6 months another might say 5 years. Your credit file and your history are always changing as our credit providers, just continue to do what your doing and you will be in the best position for when you do want to apply.
Use the eligibility checkers on here and card/loan companies provide to give you a good start on how you may be seen.

thanks, i have a default that drops of this dec, so just going to stick with my existing credit and try and upgrade to a current account next Jan.0

Regarding Sky, my understanding is that, unlike other comparable providers, they don't blackmail you by reporting your account to the CRAs. However, Sky comes with a range of other problems which are well known.0

Im with Sky for TV and internet and any time I've checked my credit report with the different agencies I never see Sky on there0
