I believe you can only "Add Funds" to your own paypal account from a bank account - not a credit card (Of course - I might be wrong??).

Hi All,
Still amazes me just how slow PayPal is - 7-9 working days for transfer from bank account, thats pretty much two weeks! Quite true as above though, this is the only way to transfer money into your own account.
Cheers

What if i pretend to buy something from my sister? and just pay her £500 for the item + fees, and my sister to withdraw the transfered funds out of her bank account, and simply pass me the cash????
Better then taking a £500 cash advance on a 29.9% apr card with fees and interest??
And isnt a purchase going to look better on the account then a cash withdrawal?
Also i really dont care about the fees.

One option to look at from next month could be GreenZap see http://www.greenzap.com
It looks like the fee structure will certainly be cheaper than PayPal (flat rate versus %) - and they are certainly looking to make it easier than PayPal.
I'm no expert in this, so interested to hear what the guru's think!0 -

Not convinced about how useful this could be. Topping the account up with a UK credit card might incur the typical 2.75% exchange charges. If you wanted to get a big credit limit from card to account and your mules were somehow out of order, it might be a feasible option. Would be interested to find out about delay in receiving payments, whether these accounts can be linked to a UK bank account without incurring extra charges etc.
Probably not a viable stoozing tool.0 -
Rock, as you've stated that your only reason for doing this is to get your credit limit increased, I'd say your best bet is to use your credit card to pay for your every day things, rather than the cash in your bank account. Clear the balance on your CC every month and repeat. That way, you are regularly using your CC and meeting the repayments. After 6 months, they'll normally increase your credit limit. Just make sure you don't go silly and run into a situation which leaves you unable to clear the balance each month (otherwise you'll start incurring interest). In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Surely the questions that need asked are why you need a higher limit and why can't you get one?
What exactly are you trying to achieve?
If you have a poor history time is the only thing that will heal it. If you want to buy things that are more expensive than your limit then load the card first, if you don't have the cash then credit cards are not the best way to borrow. If you want to stooze then you need a decent history to start.0 -
