is there some problem with that then?

The problem is such comments might discourage people from posting about future sales on this board.

probably because there always is ;)

I realise that you post is a little tongue in cheek, but I think it's bad form for a forum guide to make comments that might discourage people from posting similar offers in the future.
It's already way quieter on this board than it used to be.

My post in no way discourages people from posting, it is merely an observation made lightheartedly (that many have indeed made in the past without such comments being directed at them).

If you have an issue with my post please direct your comments to the Forum Team instead of further commenting on the thread. Thank you.

utter rubbish! Comments are always made on various threads about the frequency of sales at some retailers. People still continue to post about sales even though such comments have been made before.

The reason this board is quiet is absolutely nothing to do with people saying "oh another sale, not again!" as you seem to think. It seems simply that people have moved elsewhere to find, and post about, their deals.

Explaining that these sales may not be the bargains they once were, because they happen more often than not, is surely a good thing. This is a money saving site after all ;)

Well I still find the notifications useful, as the sale baby stuff is good value in my opinion.

Would someone please tell me where they have moved to as I personally am staggered at how quiet this thread is now.

there could be lots of other places but this is one of the best and busiest http://www.hotukdeals.com

It's my forum of choice now for all the best deals.

Do you think that it could be anything to do with the new layout of the MSE forums? Maybe some people don't like it the same. I didn't move to the new one but yesterday it seemed to change automatically to the new version. Today it seems to sometimes be the new version and sometimes the old version depending on which thread I go into. Is this happening with anyone else? I much prefer the old version. Seems easier on the eye.

I'm sure it is as the redesign was a really bad idea that is disliked by very many users . So many of my friends have left MSE completely because of it and have gone over to HUKD. So the less people you have, the less deals gets posted and then you get less people. It's a vicious circle.

In a lot of cases it is unusable and is very hard on the eyes. It is only bearable if you can still use the old version but how long they will allow that, who knows. When they eventually switch that old version off, as is inevitable, then the traffic on MSE will be even less than it is now.

It was the biggest mistake ever and has effectively killed off what was once a really good forum.
