Well there are many web hosting service providers in UK. You did not mention the type of domain you want to register. I would recommend you http://www.b1hosting.co.uk as the web hosting service you are looking for. I am using this service for my personal website. It offers best prices on domain registration and transfers in UK. You just have to choose your domain name and check its availability after which, you can rely on the b1hosting service for the domain registration and it’s parking. It also provides a powerful and easy to use web-based control panel which you can use to manage your website. I hope this would help you.0

Joe9,
Obviously as I work for UK2.net I’m going to trump their (excellent :P) web hosting packages but my advice would simply be 1.WOM i.e. ask your friends what services there using and if there happy etc etc and 2. Check out independent review site such as WebHostingChat to get a feel for what others are saying about current Hosting/Domain offerings.UK2 Happy Chappy0 -
1&1 for the domain name thats whereI got mine from and I use www.tobyhost.co.uk for my hosting, I tried 1&1 for housing, but I didnt like the banners and temlates it offered, so I use frontage now, alot better.0

I use https://www.Servage.net who are based in Germany. They do bill in pounds though, they have all you require and much more space and bandwidth than you're likely to need. Support is via ticket and is very fast. I only signed up to test them out, and have now been with them for over a year, I can't speak highly enough of them to be honest.
If you're registering a .com or a .net they can give you free whois privacy too, all you have to do is open a support ticket. The domain is given free of charge (com, net, org or eu).
If you want to sign up and want an extra 25GBS disc space then enter the code "mse" without quotes when going through the sign-up. (The code is a referral code use or not use, the choice is yours.)
For similar size accounts with your own Jabber Server, have a look at https://www.dreamhost.com and check the forums because you can reduce the cost of your first year to around £15 with the codes people offer over there. I haven't used them myself, but some friends do and are happy with the service they receive.0
