Hi
I am George, 52, married 1 daughter 14, been disabled and off work as a result for some years now. Live central southern England, - Going BR today at 2pm (ahhhggh!)0 -
Hi, I'm Roger, 57, married with three grown up children. Declared bankrupt by HMRC in October 2006, for the heinious crime of not being able to fill my self-assessment forms in correctly, and for tenaciously trying to keep a failing business afloat so that I did NOT have to rely on the state.
Discharged from Bankruptcy in March 2007 and trying desperately to keep hold of my house.
Currently not working - never did get any state benefits - but putting together plans to re-start in business - this time I won't allow it to fail.
PS - Good luck for this afternoon, George.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I'm a 40 year old mother of 1 daughter, also a nurse, also in Cheshire, and married to a pretty unsuccessful self employed bloke.
I went bankrupt in June after several years of trying to support my husband's failed business and keep a decent home for us all. My husband has remained "solvent" but I don 't know how long for.0 -
I'm early 40's female, self employed, trying to keep business afloat which has landed me in the position I'm in. I'm seriously thinking of BR but my DH is completely against it. I keep asking him to read this forum as I think he is just being old fashioned and doesn't really know what BR entails. I should have a good idea within the next 6 weeks if business is on the up. Fingers crossed for me.

Hello. I'm 26 and a stay at home mum of 3 aged 7, 5 and 3. Will be having another baby in about 5 weeks! Live in central Scotland, with my partner who works as an HGV driver. My money is in a mess!!! Although I have been trying to sort it out for the last few years. Now just signed a Trust Deed - notice went in the paper last week, so I have another 4 weeks to wait to find out the outcome of that. Its quite likely that it will be rejected (as most of the money is owed to the one place) so i will be made bankrupt. If made bankrupt i will be paying back money for 3 years before I am discharged. Bankruptcy rules seem to be quite different here. I'm quite stressed about the whole thing. Just hoping it will all be sorted out before my baby arrives.0
