30 years on my own since the divorce (albeit being punctuated by two traumatic years with a partner-from-hell) has been 30 years too long really. Mostly I can convince myself that I zip along just fine, and I can do as I like and I have lots of fun - but sometimes I have a real wrenching urge for the stability of a long term union.
Everything in my home stays exactly how and where I left it, but that only brings a hollow sort of satisfaction. xx
Just saw your post after TM quoted it as missed it earlier Serendipitous and can so relate to the last bit of your post :(my DH was unbelievably untidy and what I would not give to have him making his mess again particularly when he cooked his own brekkie:eek: ..Off now to Skype Bro in Denmark and D Sisters in Weymouth :A0 -

This post really resonated with me, as I have been on my own for 15 years since splitting with ex husband. Been busy bringing up kids, working etc, so in the main can convince myself that everything is fine. New Years Eve seems to be the worst time for me, I get really upset as it just brings home to me each year that actually I'm on my own. I miss hugs, another adult in the house, someone asking how your day has been, someone to share the decision making etc. Am feeling even more aware of it now as kids are growing up.0 -
