Savvybuyer wrote: »I'm not doing the Netbet this time:wall:. For all the parlavah that it is. Yes, I know I could convert to CC points and then quadruple - however that would have to be spent on "days out" - we've already been once to each of the places (that are reasonable to get to) that are on days out, there's no point going the same place again, you never get actual cash but instead are committed to using them at leisure places, some of which T themselves own, we wouldn't have gone there anyway if we had not got the 'days out' voucher and the cost of fuel for the round journey there is more than the voucher value - so we would be spending more than we would have we got no vouchers at all! Just an excuse to spend money, visiting places we've already visited before and don't really want, or need, to go to again. I might pick some free parks or some other places over summer - or try Gardener's World again, even if we are paying for one - but at least visiting new places and the cost of the magazine outlay at the beginning does not exactly break the bank. Yes I could make £35 - but last time I had the submit proof of your ID, which took ages before they would release the money - I'd 'won' something but, by then, because I didn't claim it within 48 hours (because they did not have my ID and wouldn't let me) they (another site that time) took it away under their T&Cs:(. I got the CB but only after all of that, and had to submit a missing CB claim - whilst it was successful in the end, it wasn't guaranteed to be. I get paid about £70 on Monday (or maybe Tuesday) as part of social security anyway - so, in effect, £35 - it's just like getting half a week more than what I would have had - I may as well wait until Tuesday as I'll have £35 more than that anyway - for all of two days - albeit I could have had £35 on top, it's just not worth the bother:wall: Really, am I going to live a week longer? For the extra money (pittance in the scheme of things) to be worthwhile?
Sorry, the £35 is effectively something I am prepared to pay for the luxury of being able to relax, without doing anything at all, tonight rather than have to work on this CB and website thing. Too hard! Sometimes I need to do nothing rather than push myself to go somewhere out of routine, that's the extra cost of "disability" anyway, which I look at this as being there to pay for, and that's what it is for! Basically, because I have Asperger's, I am not organised, it takes me more time to do so, I can't multitask as well as others and I can't be bothered, so that's that:rotfl:.
I don't think I'll be bothering again savvylike you say £35 in the grand scheme of things, think I stick to the glitches in future thank you for the advice

It is worthwhile - or at least has been for me in the past. I ought to be going for it. However, sometimes one just can't be bothered do you know what I mean? Anyway, all the money I save by wombles and glitches is spent travelling out on my tours to M:rotfl::rotfl::wall::(. So, for me, it's worthless - I'm probably spending more than I would if I didn't bother at all and everyone else gets the saving thanks to my work:wall:! However, I suppose the Asperger's person is the only truly altruistic person. (It's no good - as I know you don't get ahead in this world by being altruistic - I don't fit into the theory which says that no-one actually is - in fact I'm more rational than 'normal' people who seem to spend buying expensive small packs of onions:wall: - that's irrational behaviour, in the economic sense, really - but, even though I know it's ultimately no good being as helpful as I am as no-one else really is - I still do it:wall:. I guess I cannot help being this way. I am ripe for being exploited by others:(.)
I remember I once did a game at university about two decades ago - a game in which the first person to play was doomed to fail. Of course everyone else knew intuitively that that would be the case and would not make the first move. I made the first move - and obviously lost the game. I realise now that I did that because of my Asperger's - it can affect your "strategy" (in both positive and negative ways - and, quite separately, what's negative for me - in the sense of me losing is, of course, positive for someone else). Sometimes I can risk more than many people would - and have greater success that others when my risk pays off. Looking back, it was definitely predicted that I would lose that game and interestingly, now, that I went for the first move and that that, in its own way, was probably indicative of me having Asperger's (even though I would have known and thought nothing of that nature at the time). These little things. My entire life - everything I have done, or not done, I look back over it now and, yes, I can see - everything was that way because of Asperger's. Someone had to make the first move in that game otherwise the game would never have been played at all and all of us would still be at that table now, refusing to play it, twenty years later. It happened to be me that played; had it been all non-autistic people playing, or had I not been autistic, one of us would eventually have capitulated, become tired or whatever and ended up playing. I lost no money anyway; supposedly I lost "face" - although I guess that sort of thing matters less to me than it does to nearly everyone else anyway. Face? What's "face"?:eek::rotfl: (I could never know or be into such a matter!)0 -
