Sadly it immediately contradicts itself with number 3, saying any reaction is VERY RARE concluding
Drinking alcohol in moderation does not normally cause a problem.

With 4 it just says don't drink beer or wine.
It's mostly fermented products that's the problem.
Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, Brandy etc. again are absolutely fine.
Indeed it's a substance TYRAMINE that you are trying to avoid....

cheese, sauerkraut, yogurt, raisins, bananas, sour cream, pickled herring, liver (especially chicken liver), dried meats and sausage (including salami and pepperoni) figs, avocado, soy sauce, turkey, yeast extracts and some others.

The 5th basically says it would be less effective IF you are an ALCOHOLIC ...

.. but then again it wouldn't be prescribed to one
It should not be taken by people with liver problems

so that leaves 2, Metronidazole & tinidazole, which you should be concerned about :beer:

In my previous life as a nurse, I have seen the effects on someone who was taking Metronidazole and drank alcohol. It wasn't a pretty sight and I wouldn't recommend anyone to do it.:eek::eek::eek:

My Waitrose shop today:)


The Aberdeen Angus quarter pounder burgers (4 pack) are currently half price and with the PYO discount work out at £1.74 per pack.

I had a £4 voucher for counter rack of pork so £3.74 paid.

Smoked salmon in 2-£6.50 promo so after double discount inc PYO = £2.35 per pack.

Youngs basa fillets are £4 and 2 for 1 also on PYO so work out at £1.20 per pack.:)

The braising steak is in the 3 - £10 and also PYO, so £2.50 per pack after discounts.

I also had a £9 off £40 coupon and paid £19.84 after discounts.:T

The prawns that were double discounting recently are no longer on 2 for 1 and the part boned chicken breasts, whilst still in 3 for £10, are now priced at £4.50 so less overall discount.
