Just wanted to pop in and say thanks:)

After telling you of my crossroads in life and having a lovely rewarding day yesterday with baby grandson, I am sitting on 8th floor bedroom at Park Lane Hilton. This I would never have been able to do without the heads up last year from mhoc regarding the Hilton honors card I applied received and have now got a free room for the night, coupled with a deal on buyagift for £37.50 for a 3 course meal including wine for 2 in the podium restaurant I think is :money:-
...but we had to have an excuse to pay out the money!! Our 38th wedding anniversary in 2 weeks time (25th March) so thank you :T x
    38 wow:T

    It'll be Annabelles 50th soon:j:beer:

My old iPhone 4 has also stopped bothering to tell me when I get texts or FB notifications.
I googled iPhone for dummies and checked everything. Did a full switch down, checked all the settings, blew in the jack point, still no better - have to resort now to checking the phone every 5 mins ...

Its a pain in the bum, having to check it all the time, my DS2 text me moaning why am I not answering :rotfl::rotfl:
  • Hey guys
Haven't been on for ages.. Been lurking in the shadows...
Have noticed you talking about "new" system for c&c shops. Now I used to do a lot of RTC c&cs.. Has the old find a good comparison on RTC deal and get good apt return finished now? Last glitch I found and did was the black tower bubbly.. On RTC thank savvvvvvvysiobhan

I am thrilled to bits to have been able to help make your wedding anniversary extra special
You have taken it to the next level by getting the buyagift offer for dinner :T
Did you figure out how much your room would have cost?

I got 2 barclaycard hilton credit cards last year, one for me and one for Oh and as we had a few very expensive months including the washing machine dying on us a week before we went on holiday we got to the minimum spend very quickly and our vouchers arrived via email.
In July I started doing research on where to go and decided on Edinburgh. I rang Hilton up and a very nice chap said lets see if we can get it a very nice room so I booked in for a Saturday night.
Later when I had another though as I also had Ohs voucher so I decided to book Friday night as well
So we had a fabulous weekend in the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh at the end of Princess Street on the last weekend in August at the end of the fringe Festival
We had a fruit plate, water and chocolates left in our room in the afternoon and chocolates left after the turn down service.
We had a room right at the top of the hotel overlooking the Edinburgh sky line and across to the forth and Edinburgh itself was buzzing
I had a Livingsocial deal for when we first got to Edinburgh for lunch and a bottle if wine at a wine bar close by,nectar Pizza Express offer paid for dinners, Greggs breakfasts, free drink vouchers for Neros and coffee and cake voucher for John Lewis so that was all of the vitals sorted out.
Next day we had a train trip out and we went out on the Firth of Forth on a cruise, another livingsocial deal and in between we walked all over Edinburgh

    Best weekend ever!

We are home, i have not read back as too much, so starting from here, good news even though there was over a foot of water we personally have not lost a sausage :D
Last time when we had controlled flooding lost w/machine/tumble/and freezer , this time more water and nothing lost, its a mess here and will take weeks for the water to go but at least for the moment "normal" life will resume until Tuesday :(

So pleased you didn't lose your sausage bubbs :o

Seriously.....I think you've had a lucky escape bubbs and I'm so pleased.

I still can't get over the EA. There could have been animals loose, dogs tied up, children playing.....shocking really:mad:

Exactly, usually my phone pings and then the iPad does the same and often if I've got FB open on the main computer FB notifications so everything is pinging but now it's all silent
I was trying to re arrange an appointment via text very late one day this week and in the end it took until the next day as I'd not realised I had a reply :(

We have not had a phone line now for 6 weeks so we are reliant on everything going through my iPhone and now it's letting me down ...
