Calling all cruisers, having never done a cruise myself before I have decided me and mrs99p are definitely going on one this year. I have chosen a P & O cruise from and returning to Southampton. I'm thinking we will get an inside cabin because the cost for a balcony seems crazy.

Can anyone give me any advice on where is a good cheap place to stay for one night in Southampton ?

Can anyone give me any cruise advice or top tips ?

    TIA
I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.

I've come to the conclusion that, for every 10 thinks that you try to organise - purchases, workmen etc - at least 7 of them will not go smoothly!

My latest problem (3rd thing this week to go pie shaped) involves B&Q.

In early March I ordered a 2m x 250mm length of white plinth to replace a damaged plinth under the cupboards in my bathroom. It was not a stock item so had to be ordered - staff member located it on the computer, priced it up and informed me that it had to be delivered to my home at a cost of £5. I ordered it and paid my money.

Today it was delivered - and its only 186 mm deep. It does not state the depth on the invoice or delivery note and, according to B&Q, it does not state the depth on their computer. After some low key argument they have contacted the firm who delivered it who say its not worth collecting so I can keep it (not that its any use to me!). So far as B&Q are concerned its all the responsibility of the firm that supplies and delivered it so they have to refund me - which they can only do as a cheque and which will NOT include the delivery charge of £5 as the carriers say they provided the service as requested and they don't see why they should refund. B&Q say they won't refund the £5 either as they didn't actually supply or deliver the incorrect item.

Now, so far as I am concerned, I went into B&Q to see if I could buy the plinth - they said I could buy it but it would have to be ordered. B&Q took the order and my money - nowhere was there any mention of any other company being involved and I thought I was buying from B&Q. So, I can't see how B&Q can think they have a leg to stand on. They haven't heard the last of this . Plonkers !

As an aside, I still have the problem of where I can get the right size plinth - I thought my bathroom fittings were standard but they clearly aren't.

I know I'm going to miss lots out, so sorry in advance, but well done di and to the elite that went to breakfast, good luck scamps, hope the wedding goes well Rhos, bubbs :A, glad you're feeling a bit better tweets, and thats it, brain has gone now. :o

Still got the cold on the go so will be having very chilled weekend. I've got amazon prime but never really done the whole watching tv series thing. However, was so bored yesterday afternoon I decided to give it a try and discovered Mozart in the Jungle. Was hooked and watched the whole of series 1. Think this could be the start of a new addiction. :D What other stuff do people recommend? A friend has recommended Bosch and House.

Worth checking CS and CoS as some of the offers (for A) are on both at the moment so you can double up (two separate shops, not double claim on the same receipt) if you wish.

Sorry not keeping up for the past few weeks as RL too busy.
