M0del Agency

Just a warning and maybe some advice needed here. So a number of days ago I applied for a modelling application at the M0del agency. I went for a casting and was successful. The photography company told me that in order to sign up to the model agency, I'd have to buy my photos! £800 in total! £200 upfront And the rest in monthly £50 instalments. I naively decided this was reasonable and subsequently signed the contract. Any jobs I could get would be £500+ a day. After researching the model agency, it appears to be a massive scam!!! They are completely corrupt, however the photography company is a legitimate business. On analysing the contract, the small print says the money is for the photos but on the day I was told it was the fee for signing to the company. My legal standing seems limited but it appears to be a complex scam. Maybe a price for my vanity but it seems many people are in the same situation! Any help on what I can do to legally stop the direct debits would be appreciated

Sounds like they exist just to sell photos, no better than those stalls outside Morrison's. Have you got any paperwork? Have you got the photos?

Frankly, yes, you've been had. Reputable agencies don't have signing fees and you can provide your own professional photos and headshots, not have to use their person.

Loads of them in London, the lure is the low cost/price, then once your in there, pressure you to buy the whole lot
