Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Thank you Natty for last weeks thread and peaceful days for Bossy
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. It's now officially tomorrow and I'm still here having just finished a report. It's lovely having my mum to stay and she keeps saying she doesn't want me to get behind work-wise because of her, but there's no point her being here if I shut myself in the study all day!
Still it's meant I've been fairly tidy and organised, and she has enjoyed helping in the garden and kitchen so the house is fairly ok. We've shopped, done chores, been for walks and chatted/organised our hol together in April. Tomorrow cooking will be easy as we had a lovely roast today so it will be risotto, and there is some pudding left. MFP is in the back of my mind but I'm not being obsessive so we had cappuccino and a date/apricot oat slice at a garden centre on the way home from our walk today.
Bit of a confusing week altogether really; Mum goes home on Tues am (Insanity, zumba and work follows), possible student and definite assessment Wed and Thurs immediately followed by visit to friend in Dorset from Thurs eve till Sun - picking up MIL from BIL's house on the way home. On Wed I'll be hitting the M3 again to stay with Mum as Auntie's funeral is on Thurs in Weymouth. Back home Thurs eve.
So all I can promise is I will do what I can.
Have a good week all.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Me too.
Me too.
Congratulations to mrs-mp's DD3 :T:T:T and (((hugs))) to you both. It's always sad when people can't take a positive view of life.
DS1 visited this morning with DGGD1+2, and I have three lovely pots of tete-a-tete (please add accents wherever you think they go :rotfl:). DS2 has been elsewhere, but I spoke to him yesterday and had a lovely card from him. I rang DD this evening and we shall be staying with them at the weekend.
We had a very successful shopping trip this afternoon - new handbag, scarf and fascinator for me, 2 pairs of shoes and some slippers for DH, 2 cappuccinos halfway round the shops, plus a bag of coffee grounds from C0$t@ for the garden, two greetings cards and an age 8 badge for a soon-to-be-80-year-old friend , and a couple of little pots of paint for DH's wargaming figures
I have also booked flights to Germany for myself and 4 other people in May at a bargain price in the "spring sale". (Return visit to German partners from last year's exchange; DH :A will be holding the fort while I'm away.)
Tomorrow, a.k.a. today, is dedicated to finishing the wedding cake, a bit of local shopping, a bit of sewing, and an evening of board games with the Old Wives. I might put away the dry laundry if I remember
Goodnight all x0 -

Morning all
Thank you for the lists pigpen and natty.
I'm going to be in this week.
Confirmed booking to have bathroom replaced at the weekend -it's a friends Dh who's doing it so as we only have one loo, he's suggested coming to do the work while we a on summer hols so we get back to a shiny new fully functioning bathroom rather than him working round trying to keep loo usable. Sounds a plan to me and it gives me longer to use up toiletry stash and get things sorted.
Left my glasses round mils yesterday but I was too annoyed to go back for them so I've been managing with poundshop backups. Have to go this morning and get them then I want to finish off a dress I started making and get the lists done.
Hugs good wishes posi vibes sticks and spoons to all who need them mad I hope everyone has a good week.SPC~12 ot 124

Thanks Piggers.
Kitchen is defiitely first on my list but may take 2 days as not much time on work days. Upstairs is pretty much in shape though so other than the bathroom will last the week.
DS1's birthday so he and his gf are coming over later for cake (need to make that after paid stuff and shopping), they didn't leave here u ntil gone 10 last night.
Plan for the rest of the week is sorting out the dining room. I want it cleared, I need a bigger table and plan to move my desk out - either sell it or find a way of getting my stuff in to DH's office.
Next week whilst DH is OS I plan to sort out his office (my stuff ) as much as possile too. These have been on my hit list for far too long. It is time for action!
Have a good day everyone. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Dusty I'll look for the veggie lasagne recipie at some point while I'm in the kitchen.SPC~12 ot 124
