Activating laptop camera?

Hi
Does anyone know the solution to this? I'm trying to activate my laptop camera which is inbuilt. I keep getting the message that the program can't start because mfc100u.dll is missing from the computer.
There seems to be lots of fixes offered on google but I've tried one and it didn't work. Wondering if anyone really knows what this is and knows a simple solution?
I have a webcam but I can't remember it's manufacturer and windows can't find a driver for it.
Thanks

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C855 - 13F.
Windows 7 Home Premium
Thanks, I'm clearly not technical at all, having not thought to give these details.
Thanks to anyone that can help.0 -
I don't know if it will help but there is this on Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpLTknllcsM
click on the "show more" under the video.
and this is the link to download the file direct from Microsoft

If you have any doubt or worries about installing the file, get further advice before doing anything.0 -

OS is 64 bit. So corresponding file would be here
Webcam driver is here
Alternatively, you can take a look in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory to see if the dll is present there. If not, you can download it from here and unzip it in order to place it in the directory above. Make a copy of the existing file in the case of overwriting being the choice. Reboot after replacing.
Did you ever create the Toshiba Windows 7 recovery discs when requested?0 -

Thanks so much. I'll give this a go, I've got a meeting later on skype and I've never got the camera set up before. The person I'm meeting with will probably expect the camera to work.
I'm afraid I'm not very technical and never created any recovery discs. Back then I didn't realise I would start working from home...! lol0 -
Unfortunately nothing seems to be working. As for my webcam, it doesn't switch on so I'm wondering if its broken. Perhaps I should just nip out and buy another webcam0
