Orange Debt

Hi,

Around 10 years ago my brother went into financial difficulties. He had afew defaults which has cleared after 6 years.

His ex partner was using his Orange account. From his knowledge this was also defaulted. Total owed on the bill was £1600.

He received his credit report and it showing active Orange account at his previous address with a balance of £1600. Not defaulted however Orange has been updating to CRA as an active account + payments up-to-date.

Orange has not been in contact with him for the past 10 years. The previous address is our parents address. If any correspondence would have received it would have been passed over to him.

What can I do to remove this account from CRA? I think this is effecting him applying for any credit.

Can Orange apply default now?

Thanks
MS

Well he would need to cancel the account or maybe get it transferred into the ex's name.

There has been no payments made on the account for the last 10 years It should have been defaulted long time ago but it hasn't. For some reasons Orange kept this account as active on CRA.

Get it cancelled then if he wants cancelled.

If payments are not maintained on any credit agreement, the creditor will cancel the credit agreement and enter a default.

In this case no payments has been made for the last 10 years although it is showing as active on CRA with same balance running. It remain at £1600 active account on CRA for the next 10 years if dosen't do anything about it.

My question is after so many years can Orange now enter a default in his name?
