Electoral registration and privacy

Hi
I am new to these forums so please bear with me.
My daughter has been a witness in a gang crime case which has seen some gang members with long sentences.... She is extremely concerned about other gang or family members finding her whereabouts on the Internet.... 4 years ago she was on the electoral register, the local authority assured her that her address would not be made public but it was easily searchable on the Internet.... In fact, that address is still out there 4 years after she moved and however hard she tries, she can't get rid of it..... She's really upset and frightened about this. As a result, for the last 4 years, she refuses to be on the electoral roll or the electoral register as it makes her searchable and vulnerable.... She tried to lease a car yesterday but it has been refused because she is not on the electoral register and it is seriously affecting her credit rating..... She's never going to get a mortgage for the same reasons but the idea of being searchable upsets her more than the idea of never being able to get a mortgage or loan to buy a car..... Short of changing her name or putting her life in danger she doesn't know what to do..... Any ideas out there ?
Thanks for listening

Hi
She's done the opt out thing but there she is, plain as day...

Unless she's on a witness protection program and all that entails, the police can't do anything... She just wants to get back to a normal life, happy to forgoe her right to vote to be untraceable but her credit rating is suffering...

If she opts out of the edited register nobody will be able to find her details. All the current information about her online will still be there from when she was previously on the edited register. But no new information will be available about her.0

She can register to vote anonymously so the details will not be on any wiewable register. This option is open to members of HM Forces and civil servants and others who may be considered in danger. Contact the ERO. Look at the bottom of the page https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register/opt-out-of-the-open-register0
