Transferring Photos from Nokia Lumia 520 to 650

Hi, I have a new Nokia Lumia, a 650 (used to have a 520). I can't believe that this seems to have stumped Vodafone, I even went into one of their stores! I simply want to transfer my photos from the old phone to the new one. Can anyone help me? I was originally told it was easy (by the bloke selling me the new phone, of course), but now I actually have the new one and am trying to transfer my pics I can't get it done.
I'm being told so many conflicting stories: 1) I need to download various Apps, 2) 'it can't be done' 3) 'it should just do it automatically' (which it's not). If anybody can shed any light on this I'd be hugely grateful. Cheers guys and gals, Jack :-)

(2) and (3) - rubbish.
4) Connect it to a PC as an external storage and move photos to the PC. Then do the same with the new phone in the opposite direction.
5) If the photos are in the phone memory, not on the SD card where they are supposed to be, move them to the card. Then insert the card to the new phone.

Cheers chaps, will give that a try! Jack0
