UK Holiday Park Suitable For Disabled Person

It has been way too long since I took a holiday along with my now elderly father. I am hoping to rectify this in 2016.

We are both use to holiday parks in the UK, but I am having trouble finding something suitable in terms of accommodation.

Can anyone recommend a holiday park (anywhere in the UK) that can provide suitable accommodation for someone with a mobility disability.

Ideally I need:

Caravan (wheelchair friendly, with wet room)
Bungalow (with wet room)
Chalet (with wet room)

Can also consider, a large shower cubicle space with space to put a shower stool in which we can bring if needed.

I have found some caravans that are wheelchair friendly, but they don't take pets, and we need to take one small dog!

Any recommendations gratefully received.

a lot of the bigger chains (park resorts / haven / park holidays) have wheel chair suitable caravans - not sure whether all of them will accept pets.

Is there a particular area of the country your looking for ? x

Thank you, I noticed last night Haven took dogs, and they have some marvellous adapted caravans which would be perfect as they have a proper wet room and a ramp, and the parks I am looking at from them in North Yorkshire are mostly flat ground. I've emailed them to see if they will allow a small dog in an adapted caravan, fingers crossed!

Ideally looking for North Yorkshire, possibly North Wales. Previously we have been to places like Filey and Skegness, as well as Devon. I've looked at previous places we have been to, but neither have suitable accommodation!

Hafan Y Mor in North Wales (Haven) have adapted caravans and take dogs. Some areas of the site is hilly, but if they know that you have a disability, they can site you on an area that is flat.

As I remember, all entertainment venues have slopes for wheelchair users and I really like it there.

Customer service for Haven can be contacted on 0333 2025 260 and they have always been really helpful when we have needed to speak to them. I'm sure they'll tell you which parks are suitable.

Thank you, I was looking at that one also, seems Haven have adapted caravans at most places now and I have always liked Wales for holidays. I didn't know until recently that they took dogs though. I am waiting on them returning my email to see if I can take a small dog in an adapted caravan, fingers crossed!

If you're looking at North Wales and Haven, then Greenacres is very flat. You can also take your car on the adjacent beach.

Another thought for North Wales - Ty Mawr (park resorts site) they have accesible caravans, club has ramps etc in them, they have dog friendly vans. Level site, Towyn itself is level, market at Tir Prince, (2 mins from caravan sites), pebble beach at Persarn (dogs can go on) and you can park on the pebbles, Rhyl 5 mins away... Theres a lot to do around the area. xx

For Haven there's a number for specially trained advisors who may be able to give that little extra help and advice
