Need to replace bath mixer tap

Hi All

I think i know the answer but........our cheap horrible chinese import bath mixer tap is broken , the little knob that turns it from bath water to hand held shower has popped its clogs

My problem is , the bathroom is small and the taps are on the side of the bath which is against the wall , to replace the mixer taps looks like an impossible mission as the underside of the bath will be in the way! , how will i get to the underside of the bath where the taps located ?!

Bath off the wall job , i hope not but cant fathom any other way
Any tips?

Cheers

    :(

I hate it when I see this - a bit of better planning up front can save this heartache....

    Three options:
Access it through the ball behind the bath.
Access it through the ceiling below the bath.
    Take the bath out.

All of which involve repairs to one extent or another.

Provided it's stuck on bath, use a push-on hair-washing hose on the bath spout.

Put a new shower over the bath with surface pipework.

we already have a shower that is only 2 years old , and has recessed pipework , at one end
In any case i need to fix it one way or other because were having to fill the bath through the nozzle where the shower extension was fitted and its spraying all over as its stuck on shower , not bath , typically

    !!!!!! it
