Any recommendations for a free auction sniper?

I use just snipe for 5 free snipes and have just signed up to goofbid recently but goofbid seem to be having technical difficulties which is no good if relying on them to place a bid. So wondered who the experts on here would recommend.

Gixen is free and works well. Only downside is, when you bid, it uses your ID from the US site ebay.com, so if you're doing a return, it can get a bit fiddly.0

You can change your country in the settings tab so your bid comes from the UK site.
I have been using Gixen for years and it has never given me problem.0 -
Another vote for Gixen, never failed me.0

I'm using the desktop version and the settings only have 'refresh interval' as an option. So I logged into the web version and found it!!!
Many thanks for that0 -
Gixen for me too, never let me down.0

Another happy Gixen user here. I know that the OP wanted a free solution, but at US$6 per year, Gixen's mirror service is hardly overpriced, and gives you some additional useful features.
The other free option is JBidWatcher, which runs locally and so has the advantage that you don't need to give your eBay password to a third party.

Just looked at Gixen. I am not complaining as its free but the userface doesn't seem as good as goofbid. Can you see if you lost what the auction ended at with Gixen?
Does anyone use both? I might put my bids in both so I get the Goofbid history of what the item sold for.0 -

Yes when you login to your gixen account you can see what you have bid on ,plus what the item eventually went for.0 -
Goofbid finally forcing all users to pay. Tried Gixen. On the free service, the snipe is set to 6 seconds. Anyone had a problem with that ?
Anyone recommend an alternate ?0
