Direct debit payment

Hi

I recently changed the account a DD comes from to pay a BT Cc with tescos. The DD was set up in plenty of time.

The account showed DD setup and all ready. Account with funds ready etc. Gone to check it this evening as due 6/3. And the DD has gone from all setup to saying it's being setup please make manual paymtnt.

I've made the payment as soon as I realised this. Just concerned over the due date and pay date. Due 6/3 but paid 5/3 so should be OK. It's gone out of sending account and have this message from receiving credit card. .. Dd payment received thank you.
Trans date 6/3. Post date 7/3

Trans date stated as date purchase made. Post date as date account charged

Will I be OK ? :/

Doesn't sound OK to me. Contact your CC provider and check that it's really OK.
A manual payment 05/03 can be late for the due date 06/03, especially on the weekend.

That said, the payment due date is not necessarily the same as the DD date and can be a little later.
  • Its not rocket science.

When you set up a direct debit, it is taken before the due date so that the funds are cleared to meet the payment due date.

This can be complicated by weekends and national holidays so thats why you should always check you statements and follow the statement:

It will tell you when the direct debit will be taken and how much, so as long as you have cleared funds before this date then there should never ever be any problems.

    Not necessarily.
    A random statement:
    Payment due date: 30/11
    Direct debit payment date: 30/11
...so as long as you have cleared funds before this date then there should never ever be any problems.
The OP has cleared funds and a problem.
