Item price comparison

I have notices in Asda, the price labels on the shelves are both in £ per 100grms and £ per unit.
For instance Weetabix is priced per biscuit and Asda's own brand is priced per 100grms.
I also noticed this practice in the tea isle, where some teas were priced per bag and others per 100 grms.
This makes price comparison difficult and time consuming, and in some instances you cannot find the content weight in order to try and calculate a comparison.
This is for me frustrating and not at all consumer friendly. I think the law on price per unit came in to help shoppers. Have the manufacturers and retailers found a loop hope to exploit?

You seem to be missing the OP's point, which is valid, that supermarkets offering prices on 2 similar items shown in 2 different units is very poor.

We had this in Morrisons, 2 bags of oranges, 1 priced per orange, the other per 100g. The priced per orange either didn't have the weight of the bag or it was well hidden.

It's not good customer service and probably would be fair to say they do it deliberately.
