Plumbed in Water filter

Hi

Looking to see how much easy and costly it is to have a water filter system (stupid but I am assuming these are RO units as opposed to limescale filters)....

How are these RO units normally installed? Is it a second tap in the main sink leaving main hot/cold one as they are? Any recommendations or tips would be more than welcome.

Thanks

What exactly do you want would my first question?

While RO units are one way of filtering water for drinking but they are a very expensive options both in set up cost and long term running and a lot more difficult to fit. But they are certainly a option.

What most people go for is basically a glorified Britta filter under the sink there quick easy and relatively easy to fit and fairly cheap.

Thanks for ur reply. I should have said earlier but anyway... We have been using brita classic filter for last 10 years. The jug is now broken after years of use and I wanted to see how easy and affordable it is to put a system in place to avoid having to fill water filter many times a day and then waiting for water to be ready..

We had a RO system fitted at the same time as a water softener. It all fits under the kitchen sink. All installed at the same time, so I'm not sure what the cost of RO only would be. You do need to have the filters on the RO changed every 6 months, so need to budget for that.

Some years ago I bought and fitted myself one similar to this (but with a nicer tap) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TAP-DRINKING-WATER-FILTER-SYSTEM-WITH-FAUCET-ACCESSORIES-UNDER-SINK-FILTER-KIT-/15193307153s
I change the filter cartridge every 6 months

Thanks but I know that and as I don't know enough about these systems I am asking for some recommendations.

    Thanks for posting the link

Looking for a water filter for drinking water to fit under the kitchen sink.

What's the flow rate like on this one?
Does this filter more than just for taste (as in remove any potentially harmful sediments / bacteria / metals)?

It's not the fastest flow in the world but plenty enough to fill the kettle etc, as to what it filters that depends on the filter cartridge you buy.

I tend to look on eBay or Amazon for drinking water filters and go from there.
