Combi Boiler Cycling every 20mins - normal?

Evening all!

Hoping for some advice - I have recently moved into a new flat which has an Artisan Combi Boiler. I've noticed that it switches on every 20mins for about 10 seconds even though I have turned off the central heating and not using the hot water.

Is this normal? I'm just worried it's using loads of gas for no reason.

Many thanks in advance!

Are you sure it isnt an Ariston boiler and does it have a pre heat setting on it? Make /model..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Thanks for responding, yes it is Ariston, shows how much I know about boilers! According to the paperwork I have it is Microgenus 23 Mffi. Below is what the current settings are, the hot water and central heating are at the lowest level on the dial, and it is set to Economy rather than Comfort.

Top up the pressure is my starting point.. may be starting an cutting out becuase it can't get to temperature.

But the overall symptoms are that it is in 'comfort' mode...

Can't comment on your specific boiler but mine has a pre heat function to speed up the delivery of hot water when required, effectively it keeps the water within the boiler warm so it doesn't have to cycle from cold. Turning the ECO function on on the Gloworm overides this.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
