Barclays additions

Grrrrrr received a response to my complaint of having two bank accounts and paid for additions on two accounts for 8 years on one and 12 years on another since 1999. I wasn't aware of the packages or the fact I had these on two accounts......how could the insurances have been of any use you can't insure things twice....no claims always had company cars and separate Virgini holiday insurance and mobile cover!! Barclays have stated in response that I should have complained sooner! I wasn't aware until very recently that I could ....will go to ombudsman but not sure where I stand???::eek:

    I did a similar thing about accounts dating back that far and Barclays refunded the account fees really swiftly. Idve thought you have a decent case with the ombudsmen but I'm no Expert!

    That's where I'm going just so annoying how they have dealt with the whole thing really messed me about....doesn't seem right that they pay some and not others.... Maybe coming to last of their £££££'s thanks for response.

    Did I read this correctly, you had two bank accounts which you were paying for, for 8 and 12 years respectively, and had no idea you were paying for them?
    You must have a very odd or unusual way of managing you money!

    If Barclays have correctly applied the FCA guidelines on time-barring (and it sounds like they have if you stopped paying fees more than three years ago) then the FOS won't overrule them, see http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=70247995&postcount=1018

    Didn't say I didn't know I was paying I didn't know what I was paying for I was initially advised to have additions due to an overdraft facility over the phone. I hadn't realised there was an option.... And my point is why would Barclays all me a a packaged account on two accounts when the features are insurance.....?? I certainly hadn't realised I'd been mis-sold until recently when I read an article regarding packaged accounts. I'm at fault for sure for not keeping an eye but I genuinely believed the bank wouldn't be ripping me off. Some of us lead very busy lives!

    Also only very recently heard about Mis-selling of packaged accounts I honestly wasn't aware that you could complain was obviously aware of PPI due to press coverage but only heard about packaged account mis selling through a Martin Lewis article this seems bizarre that I can't complain now?
