What privacy settings do you have in Windows 10?

I'm wondering what settings everyone else has. I believe the fears about being monitored with Windows 10 were overdone but there was are an awful long list to switch off.
I've switched most of them to off in my settings, although calender and time are still set to on. I only have a wireless keyboard and mouse no smartphone or printer so hopefully that won't cause any problems.

https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 provides an easy way to check and update the contentious settings. I pretty much just took its recommenations. I've seen reports that some you turn off magically revert back to on so its maybe worth rechecking from time to time. I must admit I'm lax on that as doubtless MS Google et.al. already know all about me already anyway.0

no such thing as privacy anymore"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

There's a setting I learned about recently, if you go to...
Settings - Privacy - Feedback and Diagnostics, there's a drop down menu under 'Diagnostic and Usage data'
Limited options depending on which version of Windows 10 you have, but least invasive option for home edition is 'basic'. That setting allows for minimal 'spying', just reserved to system stuff.0 -
Go to start menu - Right click 'File Explorer' - click 'Manage'
'Services and Applications' - 'Services' - Find 'Connected User Experiences and Telemetry' - Double click this entry and select 'Disabled' for the 'Startup Type' - Restart Windows for it to take effect.
This will turn off another layer of 'Feed back' for you.....;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I seem to have onedrive installed, probably because of Windows Livemail rather than Windows 10? It's sending stuff to Microsoft independently of Windows 10? How do you turn it off, and will that affect synchronisation of Emails?
This doesn't work

You automatically get a OneDrive account with Windows 10.
Right click the little cloud icon in the notification area - Click settings - then uncheck 'Start OneDrive automatically when I sign in to Windows'.
Before you do this, I would recommend you learn about OneDrive. It's free, handy cloud storage.

I'm not a Windows user but whatever OS you use I think the best privacy setting is the user.
I always think about what I put where and if I want something to be private in the true sense I don't put it anywhere that could compromise that and use encryption.
All this was from a career where things were often sensitive and right up to secret rather from any personal worry. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
if you want to benefit from all the advantages that these devices bring you have to give up some privacy.
ie: maps rely on your gps/location to enable you to get around and find out what services are in the area you are in. google photos can sort you photos into location. onedrive allows you to view you docs anywhere etc etc etc
i don't know why but windows 10 appears to have brought on an irrational paranoia in some people"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

things like Maps are ok, there's not much "personal" data to be had other than where you are
A lot of the other stuff is well over-the-top, acess to your pics/docs/etc., sharing your internet connection to distribute windows updates, even down to how you type.... sorry, I'm not the paranoid type, but I don't want to be an advertising cash-cow for MS and I don't want my stuff being open to someone else.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
All of which you can make a choice over.
People give away far more 'Privacy' on forums, facebook and twitter and their mobile phones etc.
At the end of the day, does any individual know more about you because of W10 data?
Forbes readers ignore as your paranoia has been well and truly stoked...;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
