House Sales Falling Through???
Comments
-
I pulled out of a sale (before exchange) because the survey revealed the property was dangerous. I would have thought a large part of your 36% was down to survey results.0

One of my neighbours had a few reasons why the bungalow sale didn't complete.
1. Work relocation to other side of country
2. Mortgage offer retracted apparently gave false/incorrect information
3. Lawyer ran off my buyers money
4. Buyer had car accident, several operations, long stay into hospital and would need help with recovering so decided to move in with parents
5. Buyer couple split during process
Finally cash buyer bought it as a buy to let, a weekend dad moved in.0 -
I had a vendor who was desperate for a quick sale / knew where they were going etc - hassled us to get on with it, after a few weeks of me getting surveys, getting quotes, looking at searches etc etc it transpired they hadn;t done a thing towards their own purchase..
They let us, their vendors and the estate agent (who was a good friend of theirs and was absolutely furious)0 -
Our first (attempted!) purchase fell through because the vendors changed their minds about selling. They were splitting up but then decided to stay together. It was annoying but it only happened a few weeks after we offered so thankfully we didn't really lose anything. Second purchase went through so or us it was a 50% success rate

My buyer once pulled out because the chain wasn't ready to exchange and complete on the date he had in his own little mind.
The irony was, after he pulled out 3 days before he decided he wanted to move into mine by, I found out his own sale hadn't gone through till the following week anyway. So if he had just accepted that it was actually his own sale which wasn't ready (my solicitor already told me that) we could all have happily moved a few days after his imaginary date.
I tried to buy two houses - both times the sellers decided not to sell. One was hoping to downsize but had to move an elderly relative in to the house as she had a fall, the other one we eventually bought 6 months later when they had sorted out the divorce.0
