Virgin Media Non-Direct Debit Charges Now Have Changed

Hi for all you people who have Virgin Media and pay by Non Direct Debit, there charges have now come down to 45p instead of £5 per month. The only thing is you will have to agree to a new 12 month contract to get it.The only thing that is now puzzling me is how come it as now changed after all this time, and is there something happened that us customers have not been told.

    According to https://www.gov.uk/government/news/rules-to-cap-credit-and-debit-card-fees-set-out-by-government
Separately, the EU is also close to finalising a revision of the Payment Services Directive (PSDII), to prevent businesses from making money from customers who choose to pay by card by capping or banning the practice completely (depending on the type of card).

I'm guessing they're jumping before they're pushed? Or trying to score brownie points with their customers by pretending they're being "nice" when they know they'll have to do it eventually.
  • Another stupid rule from the sprouts at Brussels. I pay by dd, I expect a discount. Those who want a bill, should pay more.
  • The reason I don`t pay by DD is because Virgin Media seem to think it was ok to take the money from my account whenever. Also BlackBeard of Perra, don`t moan about you paying by DD and deserve a discount ring them and try for a better deal.
